Nyheter i Lync Server 2013, Persistent Chat Server
Vad är skillnaden mellan Group Chat Server (OCS 2007-Lync 2010) och Lync Server 2013 Preview, Persistent Chat Server?
Grupp-chatt funktionen i de olika OCS och Lync 2010 var ganska lika varandra. Några kännetecken var:
– Svårigheter med att få GC att fungera med Hög tillgänglighet
– Krävde alltid egen server och egen databas, kunde inte samexistera på en OCS/Lync FE-server
– Krävde alltid egen klient i tillägg till OCS/Lync klienten.
– Svårigheter med nordiska tecken och internationell support var aldrig en prioritet
– Office Communications Server 2007 R2 Group Chat pool krävde att användaren var kopplade mot en Office Communications Server 2007 R2 pool .
Efter en migrering, så finns det endast en Lync Server 2013 med Persistent Chat Server så då kan du städa upp bland dina äldre dokument och servrar.
Följande val finns under en migrering:
- Lync Server 2013 Preview Persistent Chat Server pool måste vara kopplade mot en Lync Server 2013 Preview pool.
- Lync Server 2010, Group Chat pool måste vara kopplade mot Lync Server 2010 pool.
- Office Communications Server 2007 R2 Group Chat pool måste vara kopplade mot en Office Communications Server 2007 R2 pool.
Dessa kan finnas sida-vid-sida, dock så fungerar inte kategorierna, rum och add-ins så att de kan interagera med varandra.
Using manual configuration, a legacy client (Group Chat client) can connect to one pool at a time for Office Communications Server 2007 R2, Lync Server 2010, Group Chat, or Lync Server 2013 Preview.
Lync 2013 Preview (client) kan bara ha dialog med Lync Server 2013 Preview Persistent Chat Server pool, inte mot några äldre Group Chat Server pooler. För att använda persistent chat i en Lync 2013 Preview (client), då måste användare var kopplad mot en Lync 2013 Preview server och pool.
Lync Server 2013 Preview, Persistent Chat Server programvara är del av Lync Server 2013 Preview infrastructure.
För att installera Lync Server 2013 Preview, så kräver Persistent Chat Server:
- Användning av Topology Builder för att aktivera eller importera komponenter som du vill installera.
- Förbereda din infrastruktur med Persistent Chat Server komponenter.
- Installera Lync 2013.
beroende på kravet på hög tillgänglighet, så kan du installera Persistent Chat Server på en enskild server eller på flera servrar.
En Persistent Chat Server pool can existera med en Lync Server 2013 Preview Enterprise Edition Front End pool.
Som tidigare beskrivet, du kan inte installera en Persistent Chat Server för Enterprise Edition med någon annan server.
I tillägg så kan du inte installera Microsoft SQL Server database som används av Persistent Chat Server pool på en SQL Server Express, (som är den databas som används av Lync Server 2013 Preview Standard Edition).
Istället rekommenderas att SQL Server database for Persistent Chat Server installeras på en dedikerad server, även om Lync Server 2013 Preview SQL Server och Persistent Chat Server SQL Server stöds på samma server som används av SQL Server instance.
Persistent Chat installation är mycket olik OCS 2007 R1 eller R2 installation.

Om du installerar Lync Server 2013 Persistent Chat Pools, it is important to note how the High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) model works and is different from how HA and DR works with Lync Server 2013 Enterprise Pools (which include CMS, Monitoring, and Archiving). With Enterprise Edition Pools, DRs operate by pairing Enterprise Pools with another Enterprise Pool in a DR Site. A service called the Backup Service is installed when you pair pools that replicate Enterprise Edition Pool databases (along with the CMS, Monitoring, and Archiving Databases) to the DR Enterprise Edition Pool.
With a Persistent Chat Pool, a single Persistent Chat Pool is stretched across two locations. This Pool supports up to 8 Persistent Chat Pool Servers where four can be active at any given time. Persistent Chat Pools will use SQL Mirroring to replicate their databases from one Site to the other Site. However, unlike the Pool Pairing which uses the Backup Service, Persistent Chat Servers use a file share (these file shared are not part of the Lync Server 2013 Topology and you can read more about how these file shares are configured here and here) to replicate SQL database data from the SQL Mirror Instance in the primary datacenter to the SQL Mirror Instance in the secondary/DR datacenter.
Ensure that you’ve satisfied the following prerequisites before migrating either Lync Server 2010, Group Chat or Office Communications Server 2007 R2 Group Chat to Lync Server 2013 Preview Persistent Chat Server.
- Deploy at least one Lync Server 2013 Preview pool. If you have multiple Lync Server 2013 Preview pools, decide which Lync Server 2013 Preview pool will be the home pool for the new Lync Server 2013 Preview Persistent Chat Server pool.
- Install the Lync Server 2013 Preview Persistent Chat Server pool. It will be empty (no categories, rooms, or add-ins). Before you migrate your legacy categories, rooms, or add-ins, you can create rooms, categories, or add-ins in your Lync Server 2013 Preview Persistent Chat Server deployment. Be aware that these newly created items may conflict with legacy items that you migrate. Avoid any naming conflicts; otherwise, they will be overwritten when the legacy data is migrated.
